About China Cleantech Forum
2009 will be an unusual year. On one side, the recession gets deeper and deeper, and there is no sign of recovery. On the other side, “Change” becomes one major rhythm of 2009. Cleantech is one important part of “Change” as it can help to create more jobs, to reserve resources and reduce costs, and to prevent pollution globally, which are all critical to our society. We, as the Chinese American, especially believe that there are significantly cross-border opportunities in Cleantech. On one side, many China companies or investors seek to participate in the Cleantech business in US, or license/acquire many good technologies in US as well as apply the US experience or business model to China market. On the other side, many US companies & investors seek a reliable channel to the cleantech industries in China, which is one of the most promising sectors in China now. However, there are much more challenges in the cross-border activities, and those challenging have not be addressed well. A platform and continuous collaborations are needed to solve those challenges. The same time, more opportunities will be created there.
A series of China Cleantech initiatives will be created to facilitate the technology/market collaboration between China and US as well as bring some good market leads/deal sources to the investors. Entrepreneurs and experts from both sides are invited to share ideas, visions and opportunities. Also investors and policy makers are invited as well to join the networking & discussion. Many specific topics will be covered in each forum, such as renewable energy production (financing & government policy), environmental protection & waste management (remediation technology, hazardous waste & e-waste), energy efficiency and pollution control, etc . Since US and China have different problems, markets, advantages and roles in Cleantech industry, we believe the discussion will be very interesting, instructive and productive.
